June 20, 2002 - Kos

My day on the Greek island of Kos started out with a bit of disappointment.  After arriving on a ferry from Bodrum (a very cool, very fast hydrofoil) I found out that there was a general ferry strike in Athens so no boats were leaving for there.  My ticket was worthless.  I had to get to Athens by the next day as I was meeting Nina at the airport.  A quick stop at a travel agency and I had a ticket on a catamaran to Rhodes and then a flight to Athens (all flights from Kos to Athens were booked).  From that point on I just rented a bike and toured around the island and had good Greek food.
