Moonlight and Magic

We went on the "Moonlight and Magic" tour in Honolulu, a combination of the Ali'i Kai catamaran tour of Waikiki Beach and the Magic of Polynesia magic show. For the most part, it was a cheesy, touristy, waste of time and money... but we did get some wonderful photos of the sunset over the ocean.
A lone sailboat against a bright yellow sky...
Beautiful... the sun just barely peaking through the clouds...
The gorgeous sunset reflected off the water...
A rainbow over Honolulu and the downtown city center at Waikiki Beach.
The clouds begin to turn pink...
Just beautiful... simply beautiful...
The sun's rays make pink stripes across the evening sky.
Meanwhile, on board the catamaran, we suffered through a horrible buffet dinner and a very cheesy hula show. This is after being stuck in a tour bus in downtown Honolulu rush hour traffic for over an hour!
After the hula show, guests were "encouraged" to join the performers and dance to the Macarena, do the bunny hop, do the "swim" and the "snorkel" and many other truly embarrassing dances. Nina was a good sport, while Chris preferred to watch the sunset. Nina got suckered into getting a Lava Flow in a souvenir coconut!
We quickly noticed that everyone in Hawaii has tattoos and lots of them! I guess when you spend most of your life in the sun and in the water with little clothes on... tattoos are the accessory of choice. Lots of people had tattoos, as well as, bumper stickers of the Hawaiin island chain.
Our tour guide "Cousin Handsome" gives one startled tourist a bit of a lap dance.
You can't have a hula show for the benefit of drunk tourists without girls in grass skirts and coconut bras!
